A Parisian apartment in a Modern Condo Tower!

With floor to ceiling windows framing the views, this home has been fully transformed to showcase a large collection of antique furniture and a world traveller’s art collection. Downsizing from a very large home, this client hired the designers to assist with making choices on which pieces to include in their new condo.

To address the client’s wishes for an interior that included both the modernist needs of the husband and the antique collection of his wife, the designers decided to create a “Parisian Apartment”. Crown mouldings, detailed millwork, inlaid marble floors, wide plank Brazilian hardwoods and a custom-made rounded glass wall were added to provide a more traditional feeling interior. To maintain a modernist element, the designers added a feature wall in the living room with a modern fireplace flanked by dark stained custom cabinetry to showcase some of the client’s eclectic collection of art and sculpture.

One of our mandates was to design custom cabinetry throughout the home to provide integrated storage solutions for everything from built in washers and dryers to electronics and media equipment. The Kitchen was done last and is the standout feature of the home with custom cabinetry in high gloss teak and a very unique granite counter top that looks like a cartographer’s map, echoing the client’s world travelling lifestyle.
